Come meet the journalists behind the Globe’s recent investigation into the outcomes of valedictorians from Boston high schools. Hear the Globe team discuss its troubling findings with a panel of experts and top city graduates, and participate in a conversation about how to fix the problems identified by the series.
The Valedictorians Project focused on 113 Boston high school students from three years – 2005, 2006, and 2007 – who finished at the top of their class. Globe journalists interviewed more than 90 of them about their lives after high school, their accomplishments, and their struggles. The resulting project highlighted the tremendous barriers to opportunity facing even the city’s highest-achieving students.
